Breakthrough Technology

GlyderTech’s innovative bio-electronic sensor technology is easy to operate, costs significantly less per test, and require less than 1 minute from sample to result. A diagnostic test simply requires a sputum or other environmental sample collected on a swab to be inserted within a disposable test cartridge that will accurately report the presence of the specific biological target within seconds to a cell phone or other near-field communication device. No complex and error-prone sample collection and processing is necessary. Only a few RNA or DNA molecules are required for accurate response making the technology sensitive enough to detect viruses in saliva while the patient is in early stages of infection. IDC™ technology is ambivalent with respect to environmental background components. Other groups have tried and failed to produce mass-based cantilever response systems that were proven to be far less sensitive than the proposed IDC™ technology. Proprietary electronics and software algorithms will measure the change in the cantilever properties and send a detection signal to the user.

Recent COVID Detection Results

The bar chart shows detection results using nine sample types, each tested 10 times on two NEMS sensors for a total of over 1200 tests. COVID SARS CoV-2 was consistently detected even in the presence of saliva. No detection response was observed with negative controls and non-COVID coronavirus.

Next Steps

GlyderTech’s future focus is on product advancement that includes, fabricate and test improved NEMS sensors, explore NEMS foundry approach for mass production, develop sampling protocols, and mobile phone application software.
